Critical OpenWrt RCE Flaw (CVE-2026-53921) Allows Root Access
A critical remote code execution (RCE) vulnerability, CVE-2026-53921, has been found in OpenWrt, a popular open-source router firmware. The flaw exists in the DHCPv6 server and can be exploited by an unauthenticated remote attacker to execute arbitrary code with root privileges. The vulnerability poses a severe risk to any internet-exposed router running a vulnerable version, making them prime targets for botnet recruitment.
